A gospel of the dark places

Every faith casts a shadow. This one is written in it.

Grimdark Gospel is not a tale of good against evil. It is a scripture of what people worship when the light stops answering, and of the faithful who carry it into the mud. Its first verse is a war: the Apostate Legions against the Brass Caliphate, two warbands given faces, a cause to die for, and a place at your table.

The muster

Every apostate, at true scale.

The Apostate Legions as they stand today: 8 units, 23 sculpts, each shown at its real size against the others. The Brass Caliphate’s models are still under the veil.

Under the veil

The Brass Caliphate is coming.

The other side of the war: another force, another faith, as many models again. Their faces stay under the veil a little longer, revealed before the Kickstarter opens.

Ready to print

Supported, so you don’t have to.

Every model ships as a pre-supported STL, laid out for resin printers, and as a clean unsupported file if you’d rather support it your way. Slice it, print it, field it.

Who’s behind the Gospel

From the makers of STL Miniatures and Runciter.

Grimdark Gospel is the darker work of the same studio: the same sculpting, the same supports, and the same library where every file you own stays yours to re-download. We’ve run this road before; this time it leads into the trenches.

Before you enlist

Questions, answered.

Are these digital files or physical miniatures?

Both, your choice. Every model comes as STL files to print at home, and the campaign also offers physical copies printed in resin and shipped to you.

What's in each STL pack?

A pre-supported STL laid out for resin printers and a clean unsupported STL if you'd rather support it yourself. Every model is 32 mm heroic scale.

What game are they for?

They're sculpted for trench-warfare skirmish in a grim, alternate Great War: faithful and damned fighting over the mud. At 32 mm they also proxy well in other WW1-flavoured wargames and in TTRPGs.

Do you use AI?

Yes, and we'd rather say so. Generative AI is part of how we work: it helps us explore concepts, rough out the first 3D forms, and make the painted images and videos you see on this page, which are digital renders, not photos of painted miniatures. Every model is then reworked by our sculptors, scaled and based for the table, and supported for printing with our own support engine before it ships.

How do the two free models work?

Leave your email and we send you a link. Create an account with that email and both models land in your library as STL files, yours to keep and re-download whenever you like. No card, no commitment.

When does the Kickstarter launch?

In November. The countdown on this page shows the exact moment. Follow the pre-launch page on Kickstarter and it will tell you the second it goes live.

What is the early bird?

The campaign's best price, only for the first 24 hours. It's the reason to follow the pre-launch page: whoever is there when the gates open gets it.

Do I need a resin printer?

The supports are tuned for resin printers, which is what holds the detail at this scale. No printer at all? Pledge for the physical copies instead.

Can I sell the prints?

The files are for personal use: print them for yourself and your table. Selling the files or the prints isn't allowed.

Will they be available after the campaign?

Yes. Once backers have their pledges, the models go on sale one by one in our store. The campaign is where they're cheapest.

When the gates open

Stand at the front when it begins.

Follow the pre-launch page and Kickstarter tells you the moment the campaign goes live. The early bird, the campaign’s best price, lasts only the first 24 hours, and whoever follows never has to keep watch for it.
